This past year I served as the President of the United Greek Council. I oversaw the 4 Greek Organizations on campus. This past year I planned 2 huge events. One of the events was the first event of Rush Week for both semesters. The event was called "Meet The Greeks". The event was always on a Monday during lunch time. I bought over 200 pizzas to share with the student body so they would come meet all of our organizations that we offer. That event was a huge success. Throughout the semester I hold monthly meetings to find out how each organizations are doing and what their month looks like. I also planned New Member Trainings which they learned about Anti-Hazing. Another training I provide was for all the greeks where we learned from a motivational speaker. As President, I had many roles. I was the face of the community or the person who made tough decisions for my community. This position had it's up and downs. I think the most difficult part about my role was saying no to my friends but it was part of my job. Or my friends thinking I was mean or they couldn't separate my friendship and my role from each other. Besides this I really did enjoy severing as their President. I even got re-elected for this coming up year. For my last major event I got our community together for Greek Week. It's event that takes place at the end of Spring Semester. We have events throughout the week with some friendly competition games. At the end of week, I announced the winner for Greek Week. Besides Greek Week, the last thing we did as community was take pictures. We took pictures because we haven't had group picture taken in a while and we wanted to do a PR postcard flyer to send to incoming students for this coming up fall. Doing all of these things helped me become a better leader and a better person. All these qualities will help in my future career in government or law enforcement.
